There was a time when the MPC One would have been the better deal new than the SP16 but that is no longer true the price on the One has gone up quite a bit. I have a very distinct lead with multiple notes playing, and when running MPC2 in standalone, all notes play just fine, but if MPC runs as a plugin, some notes are skipped.
